Special Pre Registration day for Ballymena Belles

Ballymena Belles 2020.    

The 2020 Ballymena Belles ladies only road race will be held on Tuesday 7 April 2020 at 7.00pm.  Race HQ will be at Galgorm Community Centre, Galgorm.  Prize giving and post race refreshments will be in the Community Centre.

Ballymena Belles Pre-Register and Practice Run day.

Saturday 14 March is a special day for the Ballymena Belles with a number of pre race events taking place throughout the day.

9.30am The race organisers and many of the helpers will be volunteering at Ecos Parkrun. Entry Forms will be available.

10.30am  A special pre-registration event will be held on at McKillop’s Spar Fry’s Road from 10.30am to 12noon.  All those who pre-register at this event will receive a complementary hotdog, tea or coffee and a cupcake.  

1.00pm There will be a great opportunity to get to know the Belles course and have a practice run on it. This will be an informal run around the course leaving Galgorm at 1pm. Everyone, guys and girls, is welcome to join this practice run. Come and join us!   

Registration and number collection 

Online entries are now open via the Athletics NI website.    

Entrance fees are £12 for affiliated and £14 for non-affiliated athletes.    

Race numbers can be collected in advance at the Seven Towers Leisure Centre on Monday 6th April from 6pm to 8pm.  Numbers can also be collected on race day at the Community Centre from 5pm to 6.45pm sharp.    

Route  

The 5 mile route is unchanged from last year. The race will start at 7pm sharp at Galgorm Industrial Estate which is about 10 minute walk from Galgorm Community Centre. The finish is at the Community Centre.

Parking

Parking is extremely limited within the immediate vicinity of the Community Centre.  Creative Gardens have made their carpark available for this event.  This is about a 5 minute walk from the Community Centre.  Our thanks to Creative Gardens for the use of their carpark.  Please car share if possible and please park courteously.

Chosen Charity 

The 2020 Ballymena Belles 5 Mile Road Race is supporting Women’s Aid.  Women’s Aid is the lead voluntary organisation in N.I supporting women, children and young people who have experienced or are living with domestic violence and abuse. Women’s Aid seeks to challenge attitudes and beliefs that perpetuate domestic violence and, through their work, promotes healthy and non-abusive relationships.   For every entry in the Ballymena Belles race this year, £1 will go towards Women’s Aid, helping to support such an amazing organisation.
