Treadmill Challenge raises £1000 for the Children’s Hospice

Update 25 September 2024

Ballymena Runners has raised £1000 for the NI Children’s Hospice through a treadmill challenge.  The fundraiser took place over two days on 19th and 20th September at Lifestyle Fitness. Members of the club, and many other runners and walkers, kept two treadmills busy both days.

Club member and event organiser Stephen Brown said:

“Ballymena Runners is very much based in the local community and does much to support it.  We are delighted to run a fantastic activity that has raised £929 for the Children’s Hospice which Ballymena Runners has topped up to £1,000.
My thanks go to everyone who took part in the challenge or who made donations. A big thanks to everyone in Ballymena Runners and Moorfields Primary School and to everyone working behind the scenes to make this great event happen.
I’d like to thank Lifestyle Fitness for supporting the challenge by providing all the equipment and facilities.  The staff and members have been really supportive of this great fundraising activity.”

Launch

Ballymena Runners is organising a Treadmill Challenge in aid of the Children’s Hospice. Last year we had a fantastic turnout and Ballymena Runners raised £866 for the Children’s Hospice.

The challenge will run over 2 days - Thursday 19th September and Friday 20th September at Lifestyle Fitness in Pennybridge, Ballymena.

We will be operating two treadmills from 9am to 9pm each day. We are asking people to book ahead to ensure a treadmill is available when they come. Individuals or groups can book one or more slots and one or more treadmill.

Taking part is free. There is no charge to book a slot and no need to raise sponsorship. We will have a collection bucket available for anyone who wishes to make a voluntary donation.

Everyone is welcome and you can run, jog or walk. You don’t have to be in Ballymena Runners to take part. We would especially welcome groups and people from other running clubs.

Booking your slot

This year you can book your slot online making it even easier to take part. The first session will start at 9am and the last at 8.30 pm. We will be taking bookings in half hour slots.

We just need you to give us your details and when you want to take part and we will text you back to confirm your booking.
