Ballymena Runners in the Mournes for the ‘Spelga Skyline’
Congratulations to Duncan Millar and Tim Lowry on completing this year’s Spelga skyline course.
The route begins at Spelga Dam and follows a circular route taking in twelve peaks of the Mourne Mountains, highlights include a first ascent of Slieve Meelbeg, Slieve Muck, Pigeon Rock, Pierces Castle, a character building descent off Rocky Mountain and finishes with two delightful climbs up Hen and Cock Mountain before finishing again at Spelga.
Approximately 13 miles and 5800ft of climbing (depending on route choice) this is a ‘must-do’ for any mountain running enthusiast!
Kathleen Law runs Goodwood!
Kathleen represented Ballymena Runners at the world famous Goodwood Motor Circuit, home to the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. The course allowed runners to race their way to a new chip timed personal best on this smooth traffic free tarmac motor racing circuit.
Kathleen did not disappoint! She smashed her 5k ‘personal best’ finishing sixth overall in a time of 18:48.
Coast Road 10k
Larne Athletic Club hosted a brand new 10K race on Saturday 2nd July to follow the success of the 10 Mile & 5K Runs held in March 2022.
