Ballymena Runners out in force in Dublin

Over 3,000 athletes made their return to the roads of Raheny in the first mass participation event in the Republic of Ireland since the pandemic began in March 2020.

Ballymena Runners were out in force with the following posted finishing times:

James Hamilton 27:20, Ben Morrow 28:27, Kieran Scullion 29:09, John Robinson 32:04, Sean Hasson 32:57, Leon Dorrity 34:02, Kathleen Law 34:09, Robert Clyde 35:03, Geraldine Quigley 35:27, Paul Connolly 37:01, Sinead Scullion 39:05, and Aine Hasson 47:47.

Hitting the Trails at Drum Manor

The weekend saw the 3rd Sperrin Harriers Winter League race at the Drum Manor 10k. Ballymena Runners joined an outstanding field of almost 200 runners who travelled from all over to take on the testing 2 lap course. First home for the club was Jason Wilson in 39:12.

Sharon Leetch 3rd place at Antrim 10k

Excellent result for Sharon Leetch who was 2nd at Saturdays Born to Run 10K race in Antrim and daughter Hannah was 3rd in 5K

‘Raising The Roof’ at Ecos Parkrun

Congratulations to the team from Raise the Roof Kids Choir who joined Ecos Parkrun at the weekend at the end of their sponsored Couch to 5k program.

 The choir are raising funds to build a school for vulnerable children in Mpingu, Malawi.

Barbara and Lisa’s Central Park run cancelled by blizzards

Meanwhile in New York club runners Barbara Crawford and Lisa Ewart had hoped to do their 5k run around Central Park on Saturday morning. Unfortunately blizzards put paid to that plan but they are having a brilliant time anyway.
