Ballymena Runners Back In Training
It is great to see local running club members and leaders back out training. It has been a long hard slog getting training back up and 'running' and so much hard work has been done behind the scene by a great team of club officials, committee members, coaches, and volunteers - some club!
The return to club training is in full compliance with PHA and Athletics NI Covid safe protocols and all club sessions are risk assessed and led by trained leaders.
The club offer a number of sessions to club members and hope that there is something suitable for everyone in the club.
Members can access the training through our ‘clubforce’ app. Members select their preferred training group, which is limited to Covid compliant numbers.
Ballymena Runners have trained club leaders, our Leaders in Running Fitness (LiRFs) and our club Coaches to ensure that all sessions are in line with our Covid protocols and PHA / ANI Guidance.
Training is exclusively for members of BRAC covered by Athletics NI registration, and can only be accessed via the Clubforce App or website.

Day of the 5000s at Mary Peters Track
With the easing of Covid restrictions some competitive events are starting to be organised. Last Saturday saw Belfast Harriers organise an event at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast at 5,000m distance (5k).
Ballymena Runners had six runners competing at the UK Athletics grade 2 meet, and all our runners had been training really well, and waiting patiently for the moment they could proudly pull on our club vest again.
Ballymena Runners results:
Race 2 - Paula Worthington 20:20
Race 3 - Pawel Lapinski 18:18
Race 4 – Kerry Bamber 17:53.
Race 5 - Kieran Scullion 16:52, Jason Wilson 17:16
Race 6 - Ben Morrow 16:20
The race was brilliantly organised by North Belfast Harriers and a huge thanks to them and race director John Black.
