Return to club training

Ballymena Runners Club Officials, Committee, and Coaching Committee, have been working hard behind the scenes to monitor, and review, the PHA Guidance, and the advice from Athletics NI, in respect of a safe return to club training.

The provisional date we have agreed  for a restart of limited club training is Monday 19th April - this remains subject to approval by Athletics NI.

A lot of work still needs to be completed to allow us to resume training, but our coaching committee have already began the process of training our available leaders (LiRFs), and Coaches, on our agreed COVID protocols for training, risk assessments, as well as the requirements of 'track and trace' etc.

The training that we can deliver will be dependent on the number of coaches and leaders that we have available.

We have emailed club members in recent weeks to ensure that our database of available leaders is up to date - if you are a leader (LiRF) and are willing to work with us please contact us now on ballymenarunners@hotmail.com

We want to ensure that when we do return to training, all necessary steps have been taken to make our training as safe as possible for our members, and the local community.

Due to track and trace requirements, all club training will need to be arranged, and booked, via our Clubforce app, and only available to registered members of BRAC.

The Athletics NI guidance is that after 12th April up to 15 people (including coaches and volunteers) can take part in outdoor athletics training through an Athletics NI affiliated club.

We will start slowly (and safely) and keep our return to training under constant review to ensure that we are compliant with all regulations and guidance.

If you need more information or can offer to assist the club in any way please email us at ballymenarunners@hotmail.com
