Weekly report w/e 6th October 2019

Ballymena Runners entered no fewer than nine teams into the NI & Ulster Road Relay Championships at Belfast’s Victoria Park on Sunday. 

Best performance for the club came in the Masters Men event when Team A (John Robinson, Kieran Scullion, Connor Reid and John Nicholson) ran to a very credible sixth spot while, in the Women’s event, Geraldine Quigley, Linda Petticrew and Tanya Agnew secured 15th place out of almost 50 teams. 

A number of athletes from the club also made their way to Newry for the final DUNE Half Marathon, an event crossing the border into Dundalk. Amongst those competing in club colours were William Dunseath (2:08:33), Paul Murphy (2:22:06), Tim Hawksworth (1:59:57), Peter Faith (1:42:58), Denise Doherty (1:57:51), Brigid Quinn (2:08:52), Terry Foley (2:08:19) and Bob Dempster (2:01:56). 

Also in action at the weekend were Scott Fleming (Craigavon Lakes Three Quarter Marathon) and Chris Davies (Shrewsbury Half Marathon).
