Stormont XC
On a cool and bright Saturday, 4 Ballymena runners took on the NICS Athletics Club cross country race at Stormont.
Racing conditions were perfect, with only a gentle breeze coming down the hill and firm ground underfoot.
Credit must be given for the preparations made to ensure this race followed the usual course. There was evidence of a lot of damaged trees on the Stormont estate around the race course, but there was no debris obstructing the runners.
First up to race was Ray Curran, who was Ballymena's 1st runner over the line in the ladies and over 60s men's race.
The men's race featured James Hamilton, who was first over the line for the club in a very respectable 10th place overall; followed by Brendan Kerr and James McLornan.
Many thanks to NI Civil Service Athletics Association and all volunteers for their excellent work to ensure this staple of the NI cross country league was as enjoyable as ever.
