Cosy Sofa Graduates — Ballymena Runners AC

Our Cosy Sofa graduates, together with our club leaders and helpers, got together to at Ballymena Bowling Club to celebrate another successful Cosy Sofa.

Last week saw our graduates complete their 30 minute run in their 9 week Cosy Sofa Couch to 5k programme. As always its appropriate to celebrate the fantastic achievement of those taking part.

Nearly 70 participants, leaders and club members attended the celebration event where participants received their medals and T-shirts. Organiser and leader Stephen Brown praised all the Cosy Sofa graduates for completing the 9 week course saying they were a pleasure to coach.

Stephen Brown thanked the members of Ballymena Runners who gave up their time to help each week saying “Without the hard work and commitment of so many leaders and club members the club could not offer such an inclusive Cosy Sofa programme. I want to thank everyone involved for their help with the organising and running of the programme. I also want to thank them for their support and encouragement to everyone who took part.” And with it being Easter we had an Easter egg for everyone who helped out.

Beverly Kidd, one of our leaders, said “It was great to see so many people complete the Cosy Sofa. It was so encouraging to see people who took part in the Cosy Sofa coming to run with us on Monday night. We really hope those who took part continue to enjoy their running and feel welcome in the running community and in Ballymena Runners.”

Thanks also to Lifestyle Fitness for the use of their premises on Tuesday evenings for providing us with a warm and welcoming base. Special thanks to the staff there who were so helpful and supportive.
