Tree planting and litter pick

On Saturday 19th March we kick off the celebrations by planting 10 oak trees beside the Millennium Bridge. Join us at 10.15 just after the Parkrun.

We are also doing a litter pick on the course after the Parkrun on 19th. This is to get the course looking its best for the 10th anniversary run on 26th. Please come along and join us. You can turn up on the day or drop us an email to let us know you are coming ecos@parkrun.com. We have litter pickers and bags but please bring your own gloves.

Ecos Parkrun, Ballymena Runners and the Friends of Ecos have come together to do this for our park.

Thank you cards and selfie frame

We can’t run parkrun with our volunteers. Almost 600 people have helped us run the parkrun in the past 10 years. We’re printing giant thank you cards so everyone taking part has an opportunity to say thank you to our volunteers. They will be available for signing from Saturday 19th. We will also have the Ecos selfie frame available. You need to sanitise your hands before signing the card or using the selfie frame and please maintain social distancing.

We need some volunteers to look after the cards and selfie frame so if you can help email us at ecos@parkrun.com .

10th anniversary Parkrun 26th March

Our 10th anniversary parkrun kicks of with Claire Martin leading a big group warm up at 9.20.

We will be presenting our Ecos Spirit of parkrun award .

The run itself will start at 9.30 as usual. If you’re coming along please wear your milestone T shirt or running club top if you have one.

After the run join us for a slice of birthday cake. We have ordered what we think is the biggest ever cake at ecos parkrun - hopefully there’s enough for everyone to get a slice.

We are expecting higher numbers than usual so we need some extra volunteers on the day. If you can help drop us an email to ecos@parkrun.com.

Additional car parking will be available in the Showgrounds on 26th. We are asking our regular runners to park at the showgrounds and take the shortcut from there over the Millennium bridge to the start.

Toilets will be available in the Catalyst Building at the Start/Finish.
