Loughshannagh Mountain Race
Tim Lowry, Jonathan McCloy and Mark Alexander completed the gruelling ‘Loughshannagh Horseshoe’ in what can only be described as a 'white out'.
They successfully navigated the course which included Ott, Loughshannagh, Doan and Carn mountains.
This was the 5th event in the Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association.

Well done to club runners, Terry Foley, Francis McGuigan and Peter Faith who headed to Belfast for the Feile 10k road race as part of the Feile an Phobail festival.

Ballymena Runners at Northern Ireland & Ulster Track Championships
After a very turbulent period for everyone we wondered what affect it might have for local sport especially athletics but early signs were promising for high performance athletes with excellent events being promoted by North Belfast Harriers (day of the 5000s ) Annadale Striders (3000m track races) these events were an outstanding success.
Lately we had the NI & Ulster 5K road championships in Downpatrick and the standards were again impressive.
On Saturday at the track Championships the number of athletes competing were sky high it was a joy to have attended and watched the day’s events and it gives us all confidence that athletics is in a great place and I believe that things will even get better.
Our regulars at the track Championships Kerry Bamber and James Hamilton again faced stellar line-ups and both put in great performances James (1500m) and Kerry (5000m).
James recorded 4min 14sec (9th) and Kerry recorded 18:00 (7th)
James Hamilton has also been very busy with promotion videos for Athletics NI and on this occasion promoting the up coming Belfast International EAP Meet on 11th September at the Mary Peters Track, which will once again be part of the European Athletics Promotions circuit, attracting athletes from across Europe.
