Ballymena Runners in Action in the mud!

Ballymena Runners are steadily moving up the Athletics NI 2021/22 Cross Country League table thanks to strong turnouts at recent cross country races.

The ‘Irwin Speirs Memorial XC’ was held at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena, in Cookstown on 11 December 2021. Again the club had a great turnout, and performed well over an extremely muddy course.

The club’s next cross country target race is on Saturday 18 December at the North West (City of Derry Spartans).

Sperrin Harriers ‘Winter Trail Series’ Lough Fea 5K

In recent years the Sperrin Harriers ‘Winter Trail Series’ has become an import part of the trail running season. After an interruption due to Covid-19 restrictions, the series returned this winter.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the first of four scheduled races in the superbly organised race hosted by Sperrin Harriers.

New Year’s Day ‘Race Over The Glens’

Training continues, organised by Ballymena Runners, in Glenariff Forest for the iconic New Year’s Day trail race – ‘Race Over The Glens’.

This week’s training was organised by club coaches, who hosted guests from Sringwell Running Club.
