Running safely in winter - top tips for all runners

As winter sets in with dark evenings, poor weather and more hazardous road conditions its important that everyone running in the club is aware of the many steps we can all take to make running with the club safe.

Running in winter is more hazardous. Poor visibility, poor lighting, leaf litter, rain, snow and ice all contribute to the hazards. Coupled with uneven pavements, kerbs, obstacles on pavements, roadworks, overgrown hedges and discourteous drivers, running in winter presents challenges for all runners and leaders.
