New Cross Country squad and taster session set up

We have set up a new Cross Country Squad on Clubforce - under Membership look for ‘BRAC XC Squad’. The XC squad is open to all members and is free - just book you place on Clubforce. Joining the XC squad doesn’t commit you to attending races. It will enable you to join any XC sessions we are running and you will get updates on races dates, times and closing dates for entries.

If you haven’t done Cross Country before, or maybe its been a while, we are holding a special XC taster session on Saturday 30th October at the Sixmilewater Park in Ballyclare. We will meet at the Sixmilewater Leisure Centre at 10:15am. As this is a club event please sign up to BRAC XC Squad on Clubforce asap if you want to attend.

Take part in Cross Country league

Ballymena Runners would really like to see as many members as possible joining in races and to have a good attendance at the Cross Country League. With your help we have a great chance to be one of the top 8  teams. The club is targeting the following league races:

  • Sunday 21 November - Comber Cup (Ballydrain Harriers) Billy Neill Playing Fields, Comber

  • Saturday 11 December - Irwin Speirs Memorial XC (Acorns AC), Cookstown

  • Saturday 18 December - North West (City of Derry Spartans), Gransha

  • Sunday 15 January - Mathieson Cup (Mallusk Harriers,) Mallusk

  • Saturday 12 February - Stormont XC (NICS AC), Stormont

  • Saturday 26 February - NI & Ulster Seniors (ANI), TBC

Details of the cross country league can be found on the Athletics NI website.

For each race we need a minimum of 4 runners for a male/female team and get points for having up to 8 runners so everyone can contribute to the club score. You don’t have to run every race.

All entries are likely to be online and we will remind you of  closing dates, Comber Cup is already open and entries close 5 pm Monday 8 November. When you enter you must clearly state the club name ‘Ballymena Runners AC’ to be counted towards our score.
