'Fairhill Five Cancelled'

Ballymena Runners continue to follow Public Health and Government advice and are very much 'staying at home'.

We owe it to ourselves, our members families, and the local community, to be mindful of the response to the Corona virus, to follow appropriate and up-to-date medical advice, and to do what we can as a club to help prevent the spread of the virus.

We don't know how long this crisis will last and in the current circumstances, we are reluctant to continue with any plans for the next few months. As such our Fairhill Race event scheduled for 3 June is cancelled.

Our Race Director for the event, Eugene Reid said:

"Our team of club officials and runners who have been working hard to organise this years Fairhill Five Mile race, have cancelled this year's race.

We have informed our sponsors and they are fully in agreement with our decision. Obviously we are all hugely disappointed and saddened by this cancellation, but we are committed to doing what is right for the health and safety of everyone involved, and what is best for our town.

When we get through this crisis we will come back next year, bigger and better.

Wishing everyone and their families good health. Stay safe."
