London Marathon

For the first time ever, the London Marathon was ‘virtual’ and a few Ballymena Runners joined up to 45,000 runners up and down the UK – and across the world.

The virtual 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon took take place on Sunday 4 October with participants completing their own the 26.2 miles, which they can choose to run, walk or jog – making the event the most inclusive London Marathon ever.

Well done to all our members who completed the event – particular mention to Konrad Walder and Nigel Bonar covering the London Marathon distance ‘Ahoghill through Broughshane’ style!

Les Jones Memorial

There was also another great day of running at the Les Jones Memorial 5K! Due to the Coronavirus, the Les Jones Memorial 10k traditionally held in May each year, was changed to a 5k event, which was held on Saturday 3rd October at the Mary Peters Track.

Well done to John Robinson (18:11) and John Donnelly (21.23)
