Ballymena Runners in action at Comber Cross Country and Run for Rescue Trail race

Comber Cup Cross Country

Ballymena Runners were out in force at the weekend at the Comber Cup, a regular fixture in the Northern Ireland Cross Country League. The event took place at the Billy Neill Playing Fields, Comber Road, Dundonald on Sunday 21 November 2021.

The women’s race (John McKeag Cup) was over a very muddy 5.5k course, with the men’s race (the Comber Cup) was on the same course, with a few extra laps to cover a distance of 8k.

NIMRA 'Run For Rescue' Trail Race

On Saturday (20th) William Fleck and Mark Alexander travelled to Donard Park, Newcastle to compete in a fund raising event for Mourne Mountain Rescue.

The trail race was held over 4 miles / 1,000 ft on the slopes of Donard Wood. 

A generous mountain running community raised over £1,600 from donations on the day for this worthwhile cause.
