Dale and Kieran win at the Rabbit Run and Cross Country and the Belles entries are selling fast

We Run Wild NI - The Rabbit Run

Huge well done to our Ballymena Runners who took on the challenge at the We Run Wild NI Rabbit Run!

Set in the stunning Ballypatrick Forest, Ballycastle, this brand-new course delivered a mix of forest trails and roads, with steady climbs, sweeping descents, and a fantastic race atmosphere—all completely traffic-free!

Dale Kirkwood smashed the 10K crossing the finish line in 1st place. Denise Doherty took on the ultimate test completing the Full Marathon and Colin Hoey & Jimmy Graham put in strong performances in the Half Marathon.

A brilliantly organised event with Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K distances to suit all. Definitely one for the calendar next year.

The Malcolm Cup Cross Country

After Bert's efforts to scupper the XC season in November, the Malcolm Cup organised by Annadale Striders was rescheduled for this weekend. And with the change of date came a change of venue, this time around the pitches and grassy areas of Ormeau Park. The flat course was certainly a welcome sight, but the soft ground and often extensive muddy sections kept runners on their toes (and indeed on their knees on some occasions...).

The change of date and multiple injuries among the cross-country regulars resulted in a smaller than usual turnout.

First up were the Vet Men, featuring cross-country stalwarts Paddy Millar and Kieran Scullion. Muddy legs aside, both had strong runs with Kieran claiming 1st place overall.

Judith Worthington and Nikki Hassan represented the Ladies over the 3-Mile course while James Hamilton, Joshua Blair, Robert Clyde and Raymond Ruck competed in the Men's 4-Mile race.

There’s 2 more races left in the xc calendar so it's never too late to get involved!  Next up: Stormont, Saturday 8th February.
