Wednesday Training

Wednesday training has a focus on building strength and speed at a variety of locations including Ballymena Showgrounds, Ecos Park, Sentry Hill and Portglenone Forest. This comprises a mix of trail, hill and speed work including interval training and track sessions. 

Please check which group suits you best but as a broad rule of thumb the groups are:

  • Performance (suitable for sub 23 min 5k runners)

  • Development (suitable for sub 23 - 26 min 5k runners)

  • Foundation (suitable for 26+ min 5k runners)

Ballymena Runners Wednesday Training 2025

Dates - 26 February until 2 March (6 weeks)

Venue - All groups meet in Showgrounds Car Park

Time - Performance & Development Sections meet Meet at 18:15 Sharp.

Foundation & Development Sections meet Meet at 18:45 Sharp.

Note the 5K times for each of the 3 groups as detailed below

• Note if a session is cancelled due to weather we do that session the following week.
