Chris tells us why he joined the Cosy Sofa and what he gets out of it.

Week 6 of the Cosy Sofa is well underway and our new runners continue to make great progress.

As we run with people we hear some really inspirational stories from people. This week Chris tells us why he joined the Cosy Sofa and why he is enjoying it.

I used to be a keen runner but between one thing & another I gave it up. In the spring/summer of 2024 I decided to resume my running. Having not ran for a few years, I found it really difficult & couldn't motivate myself or be disciplined enough to keep it up, so I eventually quit AGAIN.

So in December 2024, I saw a post on social media by Ballymena Runners offering people the chance to sign up for a couch 2 5k in Jan 2025, so I somewhat reluctantly took the plunge & what a difference it has made.

The group leader Stephen is so encouraging & the social aspect of the group makes it so enjoyable, 5 weeks in & my energy levels have improved so much, I have regained my love for running & actually look forward to my Tuesday night group. So glad I decided to give it a go.
