Cosy sofa registrations close soon - join now and find out all you need to know about your first night.

Cosy Sofa graduate and organiser Laura Surgenor says:

The Cosy Sofa is now almost sold out and registration is closing soon. I’d encourage anyone thinking about doing the Cosy Sofa to sign up right away. I did the Cosy Sofa two years ago and loved every minute of it. Since then I’ve joined Ballymena Runners and made so many new friends. Now I help organise the Cosy Sofa for the club and I’m looking forward to meeting all the new faces on Tuesday evening.

Registration

Online registration for the Cosy Sofa will close on at midnight on Monday 13 January. It’s still not too late to sign up. Don’t miss out -REGISTER NOW.

We will be able to accept some entries on the night so please come along at 6.45. If you register on the night we can only accept cash (£25 for the 9 week programme).

When you arrive

We will be meeting at Lifestyle Fitness in Pennybridge, Ballymena. There is ample carparking.

Please arrive anytime from 6.45 onwards. We aim to start everything off around 7.00. All our volunteer leaders and helpers will be wearing a Ballymena Runners Cosy Sofa Team high viz bib and will be pleased to help you or answer any questions.

What to wear

Dress up warm - it’s winter. A light raincoat and a hat are usually recommended. If you have something high viz and/or reflective please wear it. If you have a head torch or running light you can wear it. See and be seen is our motto.

Nervous?

Being a wee bit nervous about something new is natural. But there’s absolutely nothing to worry about. Many of our Cosy Sofa Team have done the Cosy Sofa themselves. Our Cosy Sofa Team will help you, support you and encourage you all the way.

Keeping in touch

We will keep in touch regularly with everyone who has registered giving you updates and encouragement.

Postponements

We will run in most weathers but the Club normally cancels all its runs, including the Cosy Sofa, during a storm or in icy conditions. We will post notifications if we have to cancel a run and just move the programme back a week.

Our Runs and Parkruns

We have a 9 week training programme. We will take you on a trainer led run each Tuesday night. On Saturday mornings we will do a run at Parkrun at Ecos or Portglenone. You can walk on and complete the parkrun. If you want your Parkrun recorded you can register for Parkrun here.
